Day 5 Bedouin Visit

Day 5 was a cooler day since we had clouds. Perhaps the children of Israel never complained about the desert heat because the cloud was always over them in the day and fire by night...thus no cold nights either. After the incredible lesson on the covenant God made with Abraham, we walked through the desert (possibly Abraham's own dwelling desert) to the Bedouin's home. Here we had some bread and tea.

I love the pic of RVL talking to the children. I can still hear him say with passion,"I hate the tower of Babel, because of it I can't talk with you, we can't talk with each other," as the children watched intently and giggled. Then there's the hospitality we experienced in Hadigah's tent (the Abraham experience). It showed me the importance of hospitality which I have greatly under-estimated. Another sweet thing was "thou preparest a table before me in the prescence of my enemies." Wow, this definitely is something I need to continue to work on, to be hospitable without fear or prejudice. Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who gives to us the grace and strength for each moment.
