Day 1 was full of adventure as we walked and climbed what we thought at the time was pretty hot and challenging. Looking back it was a very easy hike with great text content. We gathered under this nice tree and what was our surprise discovery? A nice ἀκρίς tree. Picture 3 was the steep climb up the mountain/hill where the giants were. Picture 4 was looking down toward the place where David fought Goliath. The last picture was a first day collapse! Sorry Joe, I had to add this since you were such a wonderful leader from the back end of the line. Love u brother! What can we learn about the story of david?

Just the other day I saw an artists rendering of David and Goliath and was reminded again that David was just a lad against a GIANT. But it was more then that; it was good versus evil. David did what he was good at throwing stones. And because he did it for the right reason God gave him power over evil. So throw your stone... that the world may know!
Greetings
As I think about what we learned about David and Goliath I cannot help but wonder WHAT AM I SO SCARED OF, there are many things in life that I think God puts there just to see in we trust in him and if he can trust us to fight for him, I know that God does'nt use me sometimes to fight for him because cannot trust me, I am to much of a wimp.
I was reminded of that this weekend, we just spent a weekend in New York City witnessing for Jesus and I clearly seen that we are in a battle and I NEED TO FIGHT WITH BOTH FEET.
Love ya Joe and Ina, good picture Roy. Johm Jr
Good point Mark, I was so intrigued with the thought that from a human point of view, Saul would've been the logical person to fight Goliath -He was a head taller & from the champion slingers people. But he was not a man after God's heart. And then here came David; just a lad, but also a slinger. I wrote in my notes that God never asks more or less then us throwing our stone. And yes, God triumphed over evil! My personal challenge is to be the absolute best wife & mom to our 3 children that I can be.
Dear community I'm kinda struggling right now with knowing what my stone is. Can someone help me out? How do you know which one to throw?
Very thoughtful and thought-provoking question, Cherlyn. I'm not trying to be the one to answer it, but it spurred my thinking to the first part of David's life which we may surely also take example from---before he threw his stone, before he knew there was even a giant to throw it at, he was a boy at home, watching sheep with all his might, and obeying his earthly father, and glorifying his Heavenly Father with songs and psalms....putting his mind to what he did know was his to do. And he was no lousy sheep-herder like Saul with the donkeys! He defended his flock faithfully. When God saw that kind of heart and action, He knew who could throw the deadly stone with one try, and lead His people. Maybe some of us are still young enough to just be a younger David at home, preparing for our stone-throwing moment?!
